MRCDC is looking to engage an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) member to assist in supporting major planning and development efforts.
In supporting MRCDC’s effort in the Sto-Rox communities, the VISTA member will be working in alignment with the organizational principles of ‘Community Empowerment,’ ‘Sustainable Solutions,’ and ‘Capacity Building.’ These efforts will lead to a healthier space for our residents, a stronger economic base of small businesses, and a stronger tax base to support further investment in the school district and additional improvements.
AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program dedicated to ending poverty by building the capacity of nonprofit organizations and public agencies. A federal program administered through the Corporation for National & Community Service, VISTA attracts more than 7,000 Americans a year to engage in anti-poverty activities in communities throughout the nation.
