“This is the best day I can remember in McKees Rocks,” exclaimed lifelong resident Tracey Pedersen, and it might be tough to argue.
The Feastival on August 1st attracted nearly 4,000 visitors to our community for a killer music lineup, an immense array of food trucks, and an eclectic, diverse group of artists.
The music was provided by the ‘dream team’ of Grey Area Productions, the Thunderbird Café, and our own Hollowood Music. Robert Randolph and the Family Band headlined a lineup that also included Big Sam’s Funky Nation, The Commonheart, and the Clock Reads. Having national acts like Robert Randolph and Big Sam, attracted crowds from far and wide.
“I was registering people from as far away as Alabama and Arkansas”, said MRCDC Board President Tony Skender who volunteered at the registration booth with his wife Linda.
According to MRCDC Executive Director Taris Vrcek: “The Feastival gives a glimpse into the downtown McKees Rocks of the very near future.”
Stay tuned for more on that!
