Healthy food access financing available for local markets through Bridgeway
Bridgeway Capital is funding businesses that help grow healthier communities by improving access to affordable and nutritious food with flexible loans, micro-grants and business education opportunities.
These opportunities are available to:
- Expand inventory to include healthy foods
- Renovate layout to sell healthy foods
- Upgrade equipment to stock and monitor healthy food inventory
- Upgrade displays to promote healthy foods
- Learn to manage and market healthy foods
- Launch your new healthy food business or access to nutrition services
- Purchase or build a new healthy foods retail center or market
Catalytic Grants
Average grant size is $5,000; grants can be packaged with loans, amount determined by deal.
Flexible Financing
Loans range from $5,000 to $1 million. Larger loans considered on a case-by-case basis. Bridgeway offers below-market interest rates, adjusted for risk.
Business Education
Business education and technical assistance services are available and can be customized for healthy food clients.

Since 2014, Bridgeway has invested more than $2 million in 25 healthy food projects throughout the region, supporting over $14 million in additional investments. These projects have resulted in the development of 12,750 square feet of new healthy food retail in low-access neighborhoods and 13,500 square feet of other community-based food projects.
