The Chartiers Avenue Streetscape Project (Phase 1) is anticipated to consist of streetscape and multimodal transportation improvements to SR 51/Chartiers Avenue from McDonald’s Way to the bridge over Chartiers Creek.
Potential improvements being considered include pedestrian and bicycle facilities, intersection enhancements at Furnace Street & the shopping plaza, streetlights and green infrastructure.
McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation (MRCDC) is the project sponsor working with McKees Rocks Borough, PennDOT, Toole Design and Michael Baker International to bring these improvements to the community.
While a hybrid public input session for this project was held June 26, 2024 at the Roxian Theatre, we will continue to take input or questions about this project through July 15, 2024.
To review the traffic analysis and intersection concepts shared at the public input session see below. Info is also available through the PennDOT website: CLICK HERE.
